Meet Jason Hicks

Jason Hicks is a highly skilled, Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist with a lifelong passion for health, fitness, and performance. His journey began with county athletics and continued through his service in the British Army’s Parachute Regiment, where he was a member of the Army Bobsleigh Team and served as a physical training instructor.

Working and competing at that level gave Jason a first-hand understanding of the discipline, resilience, and recovery strategies required to perform at the highest standard. Training alongside first-team athletes and world-class coaches, he quickly came to appreciate the importance of a balanced diet, structured training regime, and effective recovery plan.

Personal Journey & Career Path

Jason’s professional path into therapy was inspired by his own experience with persistent lower back pain caused by a misalignment of the lumbar spine. Of all the treatments he tried, soft tissue therapy proved the most effective especially when paired with targeted strength work. This integrated approach not only resolved his pain but also shaped his treatment philosophy: address the root cause, strengthen the body, and prevent future injury.

Experience You Can Trust

With over 20 years’ experience teaching physical education and coaching sport, Jason brings a rare depth of knowledge to his therapy work. He holds a Level 5 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy from the Cotswold Academy and has been running a thriving full-time practice in central Newquay, Cornwall for the past five years.

During this time, Jason has worked with a wide range of clients; athletes, active professionals, and those recovering from injury, always with a person-centred approach that focuses on restoring mobility, improving function, and reducing pain. He continually develops his skills through specialist courses and is currently working towards his UKSCA Diploma in Strength and Conditioning to ensure his rehabilitation advice is both informed and effective.

A Life in Motion

Sport remains central to Jason’s life, whether competing, coaching, or training. He regularly competes across the county in gig rowing and stays active to maintain the same standards of fitness and performance he promotes for his clients.
